Vermont Insight Meditation Center (VIMC) is a small Buddhist community center dedicated to the study and practice of Insight Meditation (Vipassana) and committed to the possibility of liberation for all beings. 
We are a  non-residential center that welcomes diverse populations. Vermont Insight Meditation Center supports and encourages the development of compassionate action towards community, based upon the ideals, teachings, and practices in the tradition of Theravada Buddhism. All are welcome.

COVID Policy Update
(September 2024)

To protect the health of all members of our community, we observe the following measures:

  • We strongly urge that individuals who are not fully vaccinated join us exclusively on Zoom.
  • We also ask that individuals who do not feel well join on Zoom only and that those who have recently traveled join on Zoom for the first 5 days after their return to Vermont.
  • Note: The Dharma Hall has 2 air purifiers that clean the air in the room every 15 minutes. The filters use both HEPA and carbon filtration.

New Location 

Beginning October 6, 2024, all meditation sittings will be held at our new location on the second floor of 28 Vernon St, Brattleboro.
Please arrive early as the outside door is locked and our volunteer greeters will return to the Meditation Hall at the sittings start time.
