Working with Fear Susan Dreyer Leon

Day Long Online Retreat

Working with Fear

August 24, 9:00 am – 3:30pm

Fear is a natural expression of the human mind, yet for many of us it manifests as worry, anxiety, and agitation that definitely qualifies as “unpleasant.” In this virtual day-long retreat, we will talk about what the Buddha taught about working with fear, and how these teachings and modern psychology might join together to help us reframe our relationship to this fundamental human emotion.

We’ll be going from 9:00-3:30 including a 30 minute break for lunch. The offering will include meditation time (both sitting and walking meditation), teachings, and large and small group discussion sessions.

Bring your questions and a willingness to explore your own relationship to fear.

We are very afraid of being powerless. But we have the power to look deeply at our fears, and then fear cannot control us.”
― Thích Nhất Hạnh, Fear: Essential Wisdom for Getting Through the Storm
